This skirt is made from cotton cloth woven on a shuttle loom, based on a skirt made in a European atelier in the early 1900s. The cotton is woven at a high density over a long period of time on an old-fashioned shuttle loom, giving it just the right amount of firmness and thickness, as well as a unique uneven texture. The silhouette is straight from the hips to above the knees, and the pleats below the knees add volume. Like a bustle dress, the skirt has a mermaid cut with a longer length towards the back, so the pleats spread out beautifully with every movement.
